We are Wyan and Kyle, the makers behind Clay Canoe, you will find us in our Newcastle home studio developing, designing and generally making a mess. Clay canoe was born from a shared love of creating. We use traditional ceramic practices for the modern world. Our hope is that our wares are enjoyed for generations. It takes approximately six weeks to make, dry, bisque, glaze, photograph, upload and caffeinate our way to a new release of work. We use local clay and ingredients and try to minimise waste, packaging and plastic. Clay Canoe supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and a First Nations Voice to Parliament protected by the Constitution. Our studio acknowledges the Awabakal peoples as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on where our studio is located. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging.
